Hub Legacy Charity, Havens Happy Clubs Receives Mini Bus

Havens Happy Clubs is one of the Havens Community Hubs Legacy Charities. The project provide weekly group sessions designed to improve mental wellbeing, reduce loneliness, and support individuals through creative activities, gentle exercise, peer support, and social interaction. The clubs create a sense of belonging that protects and enhances members' mental health over time. Havens Happy Clubs are particularly aimed at older generations, with a key focus on dementia support. They currently run three sessions each week in various locations across the Havens Coastal stretch, with each session offering an activity, time to socialise and a two-course meal.

As an extension of the project, the Havens Happy Clubs have now been donated a mini bus from the Seaford Lions Club, allowing them to offer transport support to their new and existing members, ensuring that the sessions remain accessible.

In an official handing over of the keys, Happy Clubs manager Michaela Twaits said "We are so delighted to have been gifted the minibus from the Seaford Lions Club. This means that some of our members can continue to be transported to and from the club as we have been doing since we opened. Havens Happy Clubs play a vital role for members of our community, most of whom are living with Dementia, which can lead to them feeling isolated and lonely. We can improve their mental health and well-being at Havens Happy Clubs giving them something to look forward to each week. So a huge thank you again Seaford Lions Club for allowing this to continue.
