Havens Food Cooperative’s Pop-up Pantry Scheme

Our Pop-up Pantry Scheme takes the Havens Food Cooperative out into the community, making surplus food more accessible to those who need it most, further supporting individuals, families and groups, preventing waste and food insecurity locally.

Surplus food is donated on a regularly/weekly basis to local groups and organisations to support their operations or to distribute in a public setting, as a community pantry would. Havens Food Cooperative supports 15 local groups with surplus food supplies, including local food support services, schools, social clubs and more.

Groups use the surplus provided in different ways: some use the food for meal preparation, some use the food within their own settings (groups, clubs, food support services etc.), others operate a public pantry from which the food is available to all.
