Havens Food Cooperative’s Community Pantry

The Havens Food Cooperative Community Pantry is available to all 365 days a year, in an effort to prevent food waste and support the community.

Every day, we rescue surplus food from supermarkets and suppliers- including short-dated, mislabelled, and ‘wonky’ items- that would have otherwise gone to landfill. Most items have passed their best before date but are still safe and good to eat and our volunteers sift through items to check the quality before determining whether to distribute them at the community pantry. Typical things you might find at the pantry include: bread, pastries, fruits and vegetables.

This food is available for the public at the pantry from 9am every day until supplies run out.

The pantry is free to use, though we have a donation pot available during working office hours for those that would like to make a voluntary contribution towards the pantries continuing operations.

The Community Pantry isn’t just about food- it’s about people, sustainability, and working together to prevent waste and make better use of our planets resources.
