Pay-It-Forward Scheme at Havens Connections Café

Havens Connections Café is a community café that believes everyone should be able to access a nutritious meal, regardless of circumstances. The café runs a pay-it-forward scheme through which those at risk of food insecurity can access a free meal. These meals can be accessed during our pay-as-you-feel sessions run twice daily.

If you want to make a contribution towards the cost of your meal during these sessions you can ‘pay-as-you-feel’, which means that you can make a small donation towards the cost of your meal or even pay in full.

Our team of volunteers are also on hand during these hours to assist in finding further support available locally.

Our ‘Pay-As-You-Feel’ Sessions:

Monday - Friday

9:15am - 10:15am - breakfast

and

2:00pm - 3:00pm - lunch

What is Pay-as-You Feel?

Pay-As-You Feel means you decide what you can give, whether that’s nothing at all, a small donation, or the full price. Everyone is welcome to enjoy a meal, no matter their financial situation. Every contribution helps keep the café running and supports our Pay-It-Forward scheme, so others can eat too.

Can I access a free meal?

Yes, you can ask for a Pay it Forward meal between 9:15-10:15 am and 2:00-3:00pm, please ask at the counter.

Can I come even if I don’t have money to give?

Yes. We believe everyone deserves access to a good meal. You’re always welcome, no questions asked.

Can I get a free meal between 10:15am – 2:00pm?

Sorry, no. Our Pay-it-Forward meals are available between 9:15-10:15am and 2:00-3:00pm. At all other times our regular, great value, prices apply. This is to ensure we can offer the correct support to those visiting.

Is the food still fresh in the afternoon session?

Absolutely. The 2:00–3:00pm session includes dishes prepared fresh that day. It’s part of our commitment to reducing waste and making the most of the food we’ve lovingly cooked.

What happens if there’s no food left during Pay-as-You Feel hours?

We prepare enough for everyone, there will always be something available to eat in or even to take away.

Can I contribute to the Pay it Forward scheme?
